Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga hosted Gor Mahia for a dinner in Homa Bay as the record Kenyan champions prepare for their potentially title-deciding FKF Premier League clash against Mara Sugar at the Raila Odinga Stadium this Sunday.
The highly anticipated Matchday 33 fixture could hand Gor Mahia a record-extending 22nd Kenya Premier League title if KāOgalo secure victory with one match left to play.
However, uncertainty still surrounds the match after Mara Sugar moved to the Sports Tribunal Court seeking to halt the fixture. The court temporarily stopped the scheduled game, leaving fans waiting to see whether the encounter will proceed as planned on Sunday.
Speaking after hosting the team, Governor Wanga expressed confidence in Gor Mahiaās title ambitions.

The governor also motivated the players financially by donating KSh1 million to the squad. Another KSh1 million contribution was reportedly delivered from President William Ruto as part of the teamās motivation ahead of the decisive encounter.
The clash has attracted massive national attention, with Gor Mahia fans hopeful that the team can seal another league crown despite the ongoing legal uncertainty surrounding the fixture.
