Defending FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia are understood to be closing in on the signing of three players as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season and their return to continental football.
While the club maintained in a statement issued last week that no transfer deals had been finalized, multiple sources indicate that negotiations have reached an advanced stage, with goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi, goalkeeper Michael Onyango and midfielder Enock Machaka all expected to join K’Ogalo if the remaining contractual and registration processes are completed successfully.
The most eye-catching move is that of Humphrey Katasi, who is set to make the highly anticipated switch from arch-rivals AFC Leopards. The experienced goalkeeper has built a reputation as one of the FKF Premier League’s most reliable shot-stoppers, earning recognition for his commanding presence, quick reflexes and leadership at the back. Should the move be completed, Katasi would provide Gor Mahia with valuable experience ahead of what promises to be a demanding domestic and CAF Champions League campaign.
Gor Mahia are also believed to have agreed terms with highly rated goalkeeper Michael Onyango from Equity FC. The 23-year-old enjoyed an impressive National Super League campaign, finishing the season as the Golden Glove winner after producing a string of outstanding performances. His arrival would not only strengthen the goalkeeping department but also represent a long-term investment in one of Kenya’s brightest young talents.
In midfield, sources indicate that Gor Mahia have won the race for Nairobi United star Enock Machaka. The energetic midfielder was a standout performer during Nairobi United’s remarkable season, ending the campaign as the club’s Most Valuable Player while also serving as assistant captain. Known for his ball-winning ability, tactical discipline and relentless work rate, Machaka had reportedly attracted interest from several FKF Premier League clubs before opting for a move to the record Kenyan champions.
The expected arrivals underline Gor Mahia’s apparent recruitment strategy of combining established top-flight performers with emerging domestic talent as the club looks to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.
Although the deals are understood to be at an advanced stage, Gor Mahia are yet to make any official announcement. The club is expected to communicate once all paperwork and registration requirements have been finalized.
If completed, Katasi, Onyango and Machaka would become Gor Mahia’s first signings of the transfer window, with indications that more additions could follow as the club prepares for another FKF Premier League title challenge and a return to continental football.
