Gor Mahia midfielder Enock Morrison showed great sportsmanship after being crowned the SportPesa League Most Valuable Player (MVP), taking time to acknowledge the role played by rival clubs in pushing him and his team to success.
Speaking after receiving the prestigious award, Morrison thanked all the clubs that competed in the league, singling out AFC Leopards for their fierce challenge throughout the campaign.
“Let me give thanks to all the clubs because every club Gor Mahia played against was difficult. It was a very tough season,” said Morrison.
The Ghanaian midfielder reserved special praise for AFC Leopards, acknowledging the pressure they exerted in the title race.
“I want to use this platform to thank AFC Leopards fans, their coach, and their players for pushing us to our limits. Without their push, this achievement could never have come. Every night I went to bed thinking that if we dropped points in the next game, AFC Leopards would overtake us. That pressure alone kept me on my toes.”
Morrison also extended his gratitude to other clubs that made the season highly competitive, including Kenya Police FC, Kakamega Homeboyz, Tusker FC, Murang’a Seal, Nairobi United, Shabana FC, Ulinzi Stars, Bandari FC, and Mara Sugar FC.
The midfielder’s outstanding performances were instrumental in helping Gor Mahia reclaim the league title, with his consistency, creativity, and leadership earning him both the Midfielder of the Season and the coveted MVP award.
His remarks reflected the respect he has for his opponents and highlighted the competitive nature of the 2025/26 SportPesa League campaign.
