The 2025/26 Kenyan Premier League season will officially come to a glamorous close on June 4 when the league hosts its highly anticipated End of Season Awards Gala to recognize the best performers of the campaign.

The ceremony, which has become one of the most prestigious events in Kenyan football, will feature more than 15 award categories celebrating outstanding performances from players, coaches, referees, journalists, fans and club officials who made a major impact throughout the season.

Top among the awards to be contested is the coveted Player of the Season accolade, expected to attract intense debate among fans and pundits following another competitive and dramatic league campaign.

The Coach of the Season category is also expected to generate significant attention after several tacticians guided their clubs through impressive title races, survival battles and strong cup performances during the season.

In individual player categories, stars will compete for honours including Best Midfielder, Best Defender, Golden Glove and Golden Boot, awards that traditionally recognize consistency, creativity, defensive solidity and goal-scoring brilliance.

Young talents who emerged during the season will also be recognized through the Best Young Player category, highlighting the league’s continued role in developing future stars for Kenyan football and the national team setup.

The gala will further honour discipline and professionalism through the Most Disciplined Player and Most Disciplined Team awards, while behind-the-scenes contributors will also receive recognition in categories such as Best Team Manager and President’s Award.

Match officials are not left behind, with Best Referee and Best Assistant Referee categories set to reward excellence in officiating amid growing conversations around standards and professionalism in Kenyan football.

Media and fan contributions will equally take center stage during the ceremony, with awards for Best Journalist and Best Fan acknowledging the important role supporters and the press continue to play in promoting the league.

Another major category expected to attract attention is the Players’ Player of the Year award, where footballers themselves vote for the standout performer among their peers, often viewed as one of the most respected honours of the night.

The event is expected to bring together leading figures in Kenyan football including club executives, players, coaches, referees, sponsors, journalists and supporters for a night of celebration after a season filled with thrilling title races, dramatic relegation battles and memorable performances across the league.

With the gala now officially confirmed, attention will shift to the announcement of nominees in the coming weeks as fans begin debates over who deserves to walk away with the biggest honours in Kenyan football.
