Gor Mahia Youth team beat Butterfly FC 3-2 in FKF division 2 Eastern Zone (zone C) match played at the Nairobi City stadium today.

The lads created numerous chances in the opening moments of the match and were rewarded with a goal in the 7th through a well taken free kick by Alfayo Oyugi. The team pressed for more goals and got a second goal from Lloyd Kavuchi in the 17th after getting a sublime through pass from Alfayo Oyugi.

A lapse in concentration led to Butterfly pulling one back in the 21st minute. The scores were 2-1 to Gor Youth at halftime.

The second half started in a balanced way. In the 51st minute of the game, the juniors got 3rd goal in a move that was started by Alfayo Oyugi and Sam Oluoch and Llyod Kavuchi finishing in style. The game became physical that resulted to many yellow cards, the majority going to Gor Youth players.

Butterfly scored their second goal in the 74th minute from yet another lapse in concentration in the Gor Mahia defense.

Gor Youth controlled the game and could have scored a 4th one but Sam Oluoch’s effort from a Keith Imbani’s cross went just wide in the 84th.

With the win, Gor Mahia Youth remain top of the log with 22 points after 8 games, winning 7 and drawing 1.
