The new boys stepped up, the mission was clear, and Gor Mahia delivered a statement win, beating APS Bomet 2–1 at Kericho Green Stadium to complete a well-deserved revenge.

January signings Ebenezer Assifuah and Jackson Dwang once again proved why they were brought in. No fear. No pressure. Just quality. These lads are already playing like they’ve been K’Ogalo for years.

Coming into the match, Gor were sitting pretty at the top of the FKF Premier League with 40 points, and after rivals AFC Leopards dropped points away to Bandari FC, the task was simple: win and stretch the gap. Mission accomplished.

APS Bomet had talked big after their 4–1 win in the first leg and were hunting a double, but from the first whistle, it was clear this was a different Gor Mahia, composed, aggressive, and hungry.

K’Ogalo bossed possession early, moving the ball with confidence. In the 5th minute, Gor nearly struck after a lightning transition, but Dwang narrowly missed after a neat pass from Assifuah.

A minute later — boom!

Alpha Onyango robbed Maxwell Kubasu outside the box, drove forward with intent, and squared the ball for Assifuah, who calmly passed it into the net past Maxwell Mulili. Clinical. Ice cold. 1–0 Gor.

APS tried to respond with long balls and hopeful efforts, Frank Mandela testing Bryne Omondi with a header that was comfortably handled. A brief stoppage followed after a collision involving Frank Odhiambo, but Gor never lost control.

80 minutes in, a long throw landed perfectly for Dwang, who was in the right place at the right time, calmly slotting home Gor Mahia’s second goal to spark wild celebrations among the K’Ogalo faithful.

APS Bomet then pushed forward in search of a response and were rewarded in the 82nd minute when Helsel Ochieng’ nodded in a low, close-range header that caught Byrne Omondi off guard, reducing the deficit.

The pressure kept mounting. Charles Amonoo attempted an audacious acrobatic finish from a Dwang corner, while Shariff Musa later missed a golden chance on the counter after losing his footing, moments that showed just how dominant Gor were.

Kericho saw it.

The league has felt it.

K’Ogalo are not slowing down.

New signings firing. Top of the table secured. Gap widened.

Green Army, enjoy the ride — hii ni Gor Biro kabisa. 💚🤍
