The famous K’Ogalo spirit echoed through State House when Gor Mahia FC presented their FKF Premier League trophy to President William Ruto following a successful 2025/26 campaign.
One of the most memorable moments of the celebration came when the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Hon. Salim Mvurya, invited the Gor Mahia Team Choir to entertain guests before the President addressed the gathering and congratulated the club on its latest league triumph.
Led by the energetic Leonard Onyango, popularly known as Taya Dok, the choir delivered a spectacular performance of the new hit anthem “K’Ogalo Nyamrithi.” The rhythm instantly electrified the atmosphere, turning the formal occasion into a vibrant football celebration.
As the song filled the venue, President Ruto joined in the excitement, dancing alongside players, officials, and supporters. The infectious beat proved that football and music speak a universal language, as guests from different backgrounds joined the celebrations despite not necessarily understanding the lyrics.
The performance highlighted the deep cultural connection between Gor Mahia and its passionate fan base, with the choir once again demonstrating why it remains an important part of the club’s identity.
Hon. Salim Mvurya applauded the club for its consistency and contribution to the growth of Kenyan football, noting that Gor Mahia’s success continues to inspire young talents across the country.
The event crowned a remarkable season for K’Ogalo, who secured their 22nd league title, further extending their status as Kenya’s most successful football club.
For a few memorable minutes, State House transformed into a sea of green as the champions celebrated in true K’Ogalo fashion, with “K’Ogalo Nyamrithi” providing the soundtrack to another historic chapter in the club’s rich history.
