Ebenezer Aduk-waw is an emerging Ghanaian attacker who has quickly gained recognition in East African football following his move to Gor Mahia F.C.. Known for his physical presence, versatility, and eye for goal, Adukwaw represents a growing wave of West African talent influencing the Kenyan Premier League.

Early Life and Background

Born on 3 August 2001 in Ghana, Adukwaw developed through the competitive West African football system, which has produced elite talents across Europe and Africa. He began his professional journey in Ghana, where he featured for clubs such as Elmina Sharks, gaining valuable top-flight experience.

His formative years in Ghana’s domestic leagues helped shape his attacking instincts, combining strength, movement, and technical ability.

Club Career Journey

Ghana and Early Professional Development

Before moving abroad, Adukwaw played in the Ghana Premier League, where he accumulated match experience and contributed goals and assists. Across competitions, he has registered 50 appearances, 4 goals, and 6 assists, highlighting a player still developing but capable of influencing attacking play.

He also had a stint in Kosovo’s Superliga, expanding his exposure to European football environments.

Move to Gor Mahia

In 2025, Adukwaw joined Gor Mahia F.C., one of Kenya’s most successful clubs, as part of a recruitment drive aimed at strengthening the squad for domestic and continental competition.

Despite initial skepticism from fans, the Ghanaian forward quickly proved his value.

Breakthrough in Kenya

Adukwaw announced himself in style by scoring a brace against Sofapaka, helping Gor Mahia secure their first win of the 2025/26 season.

His early performances were impressive:

  • 3 goals and 1 assist in his first few matches
  • Immediate impact as a key attacking outlet
  • Strong link-up play with midfielders and wingers

These performances established him as one of the standout new signings in the league.

Playing Style

Adukwaw is a versatile forward capable of playing as:

  • Centre-forward
  • Second striker
  • Left winger

His key attributes include:

  • Physical strength and hold-up play
  • Intelligent positioning in the box
  • Technical ability and dribbling
  • Set-piece threat and long-range shooting

He is particularly effective in high-intensity matches like the Mashemeji Derby, where his ability to create and finish chances under pressure is crucial.

Injury Setback

In October 2025, Adukwaw suffered a shoulder injury during a match against Bandari F.C.. The injury, caused by a collision, ruled him out temporarily, though medical reports confirmed it was a soft tissue injury with no fracture.

The setback was a blow to Gor Mahia, given his strong start and importance to the team’s attacking setup.

Role at Gor Mahia

At Gor Mahia, Adukwaw plays a central role in attack:

  • Leads the line as a target man
  • Creates space for teammates
  • Offers a direct attacking option in tight games

His presence has added a new dimension to the team’s forward play, strengthening their push for domestic titles and continental success.

Conclusion

Ebenezer Adukwaw is a player on the rise—still developing, yet already impactful. His transition from Ghanaian football to the Kenyan Premier League has been swift and effective, underlining his adaptability and potential.

If he maintains fitness and consistency, Adukwaw could become one of the standout foreign players in East African football and a key figure in Gor Mahia’s ambitions both locally and in CAF competitions.
