Gor Mahia head coach Michael Akonnor has saluted the fighting spirit of K’Ogalo after a hard-earned 2–1 victory over bogey side APS Bomet at Kericho Green Stadium.
The tactician revealed that the match had been circled on the calendar, with memories of the earlier defeat still fresh.
“We planned well because APS Bomet had disrespected us before. The players understood what this match meant and responded like Gor Mahia players,” said Akonnor.
He hailed the win as a massive statement in the title race.
“This was one of the biggest hurdles in our journey. Clearing it gives us belief — the boys now know we can beat anyone.”
On goal scorer Ebenezer Assifuah, the coach was honest but confident.
“He delivered when it mattered. The goal was important. Fitness will come, and once it does, he’ll be even more dangerous.”
Gor Mahia now march on, heads high and confidence soaring, as the title charge continues.
K’Ogalo never backs down. 🟢💪🔥
