AFC Leopards Head Coach Fred Ambani has expressed that he feels no pressure ahead of the upcoming Mashemeji Derby scheduled for Sunday, March 7, 2025, at the iconic Nyayo National Stadium.
“I have never experienced pressure going into the derby. I won’t lie; approaching the game without feeling undue pressure is essential”, Ambani stated during training session.
“If you treat it like any other match without added stress, you’ll avoid jeopardising your game plan and ensure you perform at your best,” he added.

Last season, the two teams, Leopards and Gor Mahia, played to a goalless draw in March, which was followed by a 1-1 stalemate in June, showcasing their fierce rivalry.
This Sunday’s match is anticipated to be more thrilling and entertaining, with both teams expected to give their all in pursuit of victory. A win for either side will grant bragging rights until the next encounter.
While AFC Leopards might be content with a draw, Gor Mahia is likely to aim for a convincing victory, although a draw could also suit their strategic plans.
