[dropcap]G[/dropcap]or Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has expressed strong support to his players despite criticism that have been coming from a section of fans.

Kerr was reacting to the negative comments that have been surfacing recently with the latest one being about the goal conceded in Rwanda against Rayon Sports in Caf Confederation Cup fixture.

“Comments made recently concerning certain areas of our game are understandable but you have to look at our congested fixture and match preparation. Players can be physically tired and or mentally tired,” said the tactician.

He added that: “Physically we are fit just from the way we play generally and match preparation is very important though we have very little time to work on certain elements so, in games we become mentally tired and this leads to mistakes… mistakes that have cost us goals.”

The Briton raised a concern on the conditions of pitches in Kenya as he pointed out the tight fixtures as factors that are affecting their style of play.

“With tight fixtures coming thick and fast plus the condition of the fields, we are greatly affected in our style of play but credit to my players, they can play the game of football. Dylan Kerr

“None of my players, my assistant, my goalkeeper coach, Team Manager, Team Doctor, security or any other member of the club staff has let me or the fans down, but sometimes things go wrong but to criticise my players – any of them, is unjust because they are trying, they are working hard and they are honest to try and win every game they can under extreme pressures,” noted Kerr.

Kerr will be leading his charges against Kakamega Homeboyz in Bukhungu, Kakamega tommorow in a league tie.
