The much anticipated “Mashemeji” Derby will be played at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, May 8, 2022, Gor Mahia.
K’Ogalo had set the newly built Jomo Kenyatta Internation Stadium in Kisumu as the venue for the match but were not able to secure the space due to other events prepared on the same ground.
“Gor Mahia FC is proud to inform the general public and K’Ogalo fans in particular that our match against AFC Leopards will be played at Kasarani Stadium on the 8th May 2022. Gor Mahia FC EC appeals to all our fans around the country to come out in large numbers and support our team on this particular match,” a communication from the club’s Secretary General read.
K’Ogalo were bared playing any of their games in Nairobi’s Nyayo National Stadium and Kasarani Stadium after fans trouble in March 2022 when that was playing against Vihiga Bullets.
The club has been shifting base between Thika Municipal Stadium in Thika, Moi Stadium in Kisumu, and the William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok.
The match kick-off time remains at 3:00 PM.
