Gor Mahia have received a major financial boost ahead of its upcoming CAF Champions League campaign after Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, John Mbadi, donated a total of KSh 3.2 million to the club.
The donation was announced as part of efforts to support the record Kenyan champions as they prepare for continental football next season.
According to the breakdown, KSh 1 million has been allocated to the club’s management to support operational activities, while KSh 2 million has been earmarked for the players as motivation following a successful domestic campaign.
In addition, KSh 200,000 was set aside to cater for lunch for Gor Mahia’s renowned supporter groups, Team Kwaya (Taya Dok) and the Bishop Aduda faction, recognizing their unwavering support throughout the season.
The financial contribution comes at a crucial time for K’Ogalo, who are expected to intensify preparations for the CAF Champions League, where they will be seeking to make a strong impression against some of Africa’s top clubs.
The donation has been welcomed by the Gor Mahia fraternity, with fans viewing it as a significant gesture of support towards the club’s ambitions on the continental stage.
