Gor Mahia patron Eliud Owalo today lifted the spirits of the K’Ogalo family even higher after hosting the newly crowned champions to a vibrant luncheon at Carnivore Restaurant, Nairobi, where he also rewarded the team with a Sh1 million token of appreciation for clinching the 2025/2026 Kenyan Premier League title.
The Green Army is still buzzing after K’Ogalo sealed a record-extending 22nd league crown on Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium, where thousands of fans painted the stadium green in a spectacular coronation moment that reaffirmed Gor Mahia’s dominance in Kenyan football.

“This Is The Power Of K’Ogalo Family”
Speaking during the celebrations, Owalo praised the unity that defines Gor Mahia, applauding every arm of the club, from management to players and fans, for powering the title charge.
“It has been a long and demanding journey, but the K’Ogalo family stayed strong and united throughout,” he said, highlighting the spirit that carried the team through a tough season.
He credited the club leadership, technical bench, and playing unit for maintaining focus under pressure, especially in key fixtures that defined the title race.

Salute To The Green Army
In a special moment, Owalo paid tribute to the passionate Green Army, praising their unmatched loyalty and discipline throughout the season, noting the absence of hooliganism as a major win for the club’s image.
He also acknowledged the club choir for energizing matchdays, the security team for ensuring order, the women’s and junior teams for building the future, and sports journalists for keeping fans updated across the season.

Strong Support From Club Leadership
The luncheon brought together key figures of the K’Ogalo structure including chairman Ambrose Rachier, vice-chairperson Sally Bolo, treasurer Gerphas Okuku, and administration manager Ronald Ngala. The technical bench was led by head coach Charles Akonnor, with captain Philemon Otieno leading the playing unit.
Eyes Now on CAF Campions League
Owalo challenged the champions to take the next step and shine on the continental stage, urging the team to channel the same unity and hunger into the CAF Champions League campaign.
He pledged continued support to ensure Gor Mahia is fully prepared for Africa’s biggest club competition.

K’Ogalo Chairman Dr. Ambrose Rachier thanked the patron for his consistent support throughout the season, noting that such gestures played a big role in boosting morale during the title chase.
Heag Coach Charles Akonnor expressed pride in the team’s achievement in a highly competitive season, while captain Philemon Otieno, on behalf of the players, thanked the patron and the entire K’Ogalo family for standing firmly behind the team.
One Family. One Goal. One Glory.
From the pitch to the stands, from the office to the terraces, this title belongs to the entire K’Ogalo nation.
And as the Green Army celebrates, the message is clear: Gor Mahia is not just champions of Kenya, they are building a legacy for Africa.
