Gor Mahia left-back Mohammed Siraj has completed a loan move to KCB FC, where he will spend the remainder of the season.

Siraj has not featured so much for K’Ogalo since his arrival in August, struggling to break into the matchday squad following his switch from Bandari FC.

The temporary move to the Bankers is expected to offer the defender much-needed game time, with regular minutes seen as key to regaining rhythm and confidence.

What’s it Means and how it will affect Gor Mahia

1. Left-back pecking order stays clear

Siraj’s exit doesn’t weaken Gor Mahia immediately. K’Ogalo already have a settled first-choice at left-back Bruton Anyone with the recovery or Geoffrey ‘Simiti’ Ochieng’, with the coaching staff clearly trusting the current options. Siraj was not in the regular matchday picture, so this is more of a squad trim than a loss.

2. Fewer bodies, more clarity

Reducing numbers in a competitive position can actually help. With Siraj out on loan, the hierarchy is cleaner, training intensity rises, and rotation decisions become more straightforward, especially during congested fixtures.

3. Short-term risk: injuries & suspensions

The only gamble is depth in case of injuries, fatigue, or suspensions. Should K’Ogalo face a packed schedule or an unexpected absence at left-back, the options will be thinner unless a versatile defender is deployed to cover.

4. Long-term upside for K’Ogalo

If Siraj gets consistent minutes at KCB and impresses, Gor Mahia could welcome back a match-sharp, confident left-back next season, effectively strengthening depth without making a new signing.

Bottom line

This is a low-risk, high-upside move for Gor Mahia. The squad remains strong now, and the club keeps control of a player who could return ready to compete. Sometimes, depth isn’t about numbers, it’s about having ready players when you need them.

For Gor Mahia, the loan provides Siraj with a chance to rediscover form while remaining under the club’s watch a reset, not a goodbye
