Gor Mahia fans have been left frustrated after the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) ruled the abandoned clash against Nairobi United a 1–1 draw, citing force majeure despite K’Ogalo being on course for all three points.
The match at Dandora Stadium on December 21, 2025, was called off in chaotic circumstances shortly after Nairobi United equalised in the second half. Gor Mahia had taken an early lead through Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw in the 14th minute and were firmly in control heading into halftime.
Ovella Ochieng’s equaliser changed the mood, but not the football, instead, disorder in the stands forced match officials to abandon the game, denying K’Ogalo the chance to respond on the pitch.
FKF’s Leagues and Competitions Committee has now ruled that the game was abandoned due to unforeseeable circumstances and confirmed the scoreline at the time of stoppage as the final result. For Gor Mahia supporters, it feels like points dropped not through football, but through circumstances beyond the team’s control.
While Nairobi United are reportedly considering challenging the ruling after not being heard by the Leagues and Competitions Committee, Gor Mahia fans are asking a different question: why should K’Ogalo pay the price for chaos they didn’t cause?
Once again, Gor Mahia leave the pitch unbeaten, but without the full reward their performance deserved.
