Rachier Breathes Fire as Gor Mahia Set Sights on KPL Title

Gor Mahia FC chairman Ambrose Rachier has laid down a bold marker for the remainder of the season, declaring that the record Kenyan champions must bounce back and win the 2025/26 Kenyan Premier League title.

In a strongly worded address that underlined the club’s high standards, Rachier insisted there will be no room for excuses at K’Ogalo, stressing that Gor Mahia’s identity is built on success both locally and on the continental stage.

“It’s not going to be business as usual. We have to win the league and also bounce back to continental matches,” Rachier said.
“Our fans are used to winning ways and featuring in continental competitions. I promise them that we must win the league and have a great season.”

The chairman’s comments come at a time when Gor Mahia are firmly in the title conversation, having shown renewed consistency and fighting spirit in recent matches. After an inconsistent start to the campaign, K’Ogalo have rediscovered momentum, closing the gap on their rivals and reasserting themselves as genuine contenders.

Rachier, one of the longest-serving administrators in Kenyan football, has overseen Gor Mahia’s most successful modern era, including multiple league titles and regular appearances in CAF competitions. His latest remarks signal a clear demand for a return to that winning culture after missing out on continental football in recent seasons.

For the Green Army faithful, the message from the top is unmistakable: the club’s ambitions remain unchanged. Winning the league and flying the Kenyan flag in Africa is not a luxury; it is an expectation.

As the season enters a decisive phase, pressure now shifts to the technical bench and players to back the chairman’s strong words with performances on the pitch. For Gor Mahia, anything short of the title would fall short of the standard their leadership has now publicly set.
