In a heartfelt message, Tuyisenge Jacques, the former forward for Gor Mahia FC, expressed his condolences to the family of the late Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, a revered figure in Kenyan politics and the patron of the most celebrated football club. The news of Odinga’s passing has sent shockwaves throughout the nation, prompting tributes from various sectors, including sports.

In his tribute, Tuyisenge reminisced about his time at Gor Mahia, reflecting on the challenges he faced in 2019 when he sought permission to join another team. He revealed that the delay in his transfer was due to awaiting Odinga’s approval, highlighting the personal impact the late leader had on the careers of many, including athletes.

“So today, I say: Rest in Peace, Baba. To Gor Mahia FC, the team he loved the most, and to the Kenyans in general, I send my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Rest in Peace, Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga,” he said, accompanied by hashtags #RIPRailaOdinga, #kogalo, #sirkal, and #kenya.

Raila Odinga, affectionately known as “Baba,” passed away earlier today in India. His death occurred in the morning after a walk. At approximately 7:45 AM, Odinga experienced sudden breathing difficulties and collapsed. Despite the swift response that included transporting him to a nearby private hospital, his health rapidly declined, leading to his untimely demise.

As news of his passing spreads, tributes continue to pour in from all corners of the country. Raila Odinga was not only a prominent political figure but also a cultural icon, widely regarded for his dedication to social justice and democratic ideals. His contributions to both the political landscape and community development have left an indelible mark on the nation.

The Gor Mahia community, along with countless Kenyans, mourns the loss of a leader who championed various causes, always encouraging inclusivity and representation. As tributes keep coming in, it is clear that Raila Odinga’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those he inspired and influenced throughout his life.
