Gor Mahia lost 3-1 to Nairobi City Stars in a pre-season friendly played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday 13 November.
K’Ogalo grabbed the lead in the 17th minute of the game when forward Lloyd Khavuchi picked the rebound for the 18-yard to fire a shot into the roof of the net.
City Stars were awarded a penalty three minutes after the half-hour mark when Gilbert Otieno handled the ball inside the box as Peter ‘Pinchez’ Opiyo nonchalantly slotted the ball home with a hop-skip and kick the penalty.
City Stars went ahead four minutes later when substitute Vincent Otieno hit a long-range strike from outside the box that caught Caleb Omondi napping in goal as the young goalkeeper had a horror show in the second half.
City Stars continued to look for more goals with the third coming in the 85th minute courtesy of Newton Ochieng. Being unmarked inside the box, the substitute tapped the cross-pass from Samuel Kapeni.
