Gor Mahia began the FKF Premier League in a winning way, beating Ulinzi stars 1-0 in a match played at Nyayo National Stadium – Nairobi on Saturday 12th December 2020.
The 19th tine Kenya champions had to wait for 64 minutes before substitute Jules Ulimwengu scored the only goal in the second half to ensure the champions get maximum points.
K’Ogalo was the first to send a warning shot in the 5th minute of the game when Clifton Miheso free-kick hit the crossbar.
A rather dull first half ended in a barren draw with the visitors having a better part of the game, outplaying Gor Mahia in almost all departments.
Introduction of Captain Kenneth Muguna at the beginning of the second half saw the team cohesion enhanced and some good ball display witnessed.
Against the run of play, it was K’Ogalo who opened the scoring in the 64th minute. Jules Ulimwengu converted the chance after a good assist from Nicholas Kipkirui.
