Gor Mahia have been handed another transfer ban for the next to windows after being found guilty of not following FIFA directive and signing new players before previous transfer disputes are cleared.

“The club Gor Mahia is banned from registering new players for two entire and consecutive registration periods as from the date of notification of the present decision,” read part of the letter from the world governing body.

K’Ogalo fielded new signings in the Super Cup clash against Tusker and the opening league match against KCB despite still serving a transfer ban.

According to the letter from FIFA, Gor Mahia will only be allowed to register new players in 2023 once the club has served the ban entirely.

“The ban from registering new players applies both nationally and internationally and shall cover all men eleven-a-side teams of the Respondent – first team and youth categories. The Respondent shall be able to register new players, either nationally or internationally, only as of the first registration period following the full serving of the ban,”

“In particular, the Respondent may not make use of the exception and the provisional measures stipulated in article 6 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players in order to register players at an earlier stage,” the letter further reads.

K’Ogalo were previously banned for failing to settle the despites of former head coach Steven Pollack, Ugandan defender Shafik Batambuze and Tanzanian midfielder Dickson Ambundo.

K’Ogalo parted ways with Pollack in early October 2020 on a mutual agreement while Dickson Ambundo and Shafiq Batambuze were released on July 27th, 2020 and November 9th, 2020 respectively.
