Highly Charged Gor Mahia dismantle K. Sharks in a Betway Cup quarters

A highly charged Gor Mahia showed their might today beating stubborn Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 in a Betway Cup quarter-finals played at Utalii College.

Coming into the game with much confidence and in their ming revisiting the victory in the first leg Betking Premier League clash where they beat defending champions 4-3, Sharks had one mission to prove that their win wasn’t by any luck.

But it was K’Ogalo who went the break leading when Masaba fired in the opener one minute to half time, turn-swinging a first-time volley into the net after receiving a straight curl from Philemon Otieno.

Trailing by a solitary goal scored at the stroke of halftime by Karim Nikiema, But Sharks were not lucky enough to convert a penalty awarded to the in the 62nf minute of the game which K’ogalo goalkeeper Gad Mathews saved.

As Sharks pressed hard upfront, neither could they know that a well-organized K’Ogalo were up for something. As a result, a 90 +3 goal from Sydney Ochieng sealed the deal, making the Kariobangi side much silent than ever before.

As Frank Odhiambo persevered the had tackle from the left flank, he had no time to waste, picked the ball leaving Sharks player on the ground – Sydney Ochieng and Jules Ulimwengu had already arrived and positioned themselves for the assist.

He weaved his way through setting up midfielder Sydney Ochieng who showed what class and technique is in front of the goal – cooly placed the ball past the oncoming keeper and into the net to hammer the final nail on Sharks’ coffin.

K’ogalo will no face Bidco United in the Semi finals of the Betway Cup.
