It is another time for the “Mashemeji” derby as Gor Mahia prepares to welcome AFC Leopards this Sunday 7th February 2021 at Moi Sports Center Kasarani.

The much-anticipated game will however be played in an empty stadium due to COVID-19 regulations laid down by the Government.

It has been a long time since the neighbor snatch the bragging rights from K’Ogalo, with the last win registered in the early 2016 goal courtesy of Lamin Dlallo .

The K’Ogalo dominance during the “Mashemeji” derby has caused Inge (AFC Leopard) to be seen as a “little” team in the game of giants.

K’Ogalo players that gave enjoyed scoring goals against AFC Lepards sin 2016 include former players Medie Kagere, Tomothy Otieno, Gnamien Yikpe, Jacques Tuyisenge, Francis Kahata, Lawrence Juma, George “Blackberry Ogutu and Benard Odiek.

Nicholas Kipkirui, and Kenneth Muguna and Clifton Mihesoare the current players that have enjoyed scoring against AFC Leopards since 2016.

Since 2016, K’Ogalo have only drawn and lost once and lost ones against their arch-rivals with their highest being 4-1 in 2019.

In their last 10 KPL games, Gor Mahia have scored 19 goals while AFC Leopars have scored 4 goals in total.

The Sunday clash will determine who will carry the bragging rights till the next scheduled clash. A win for K’Ogalo will keep them on the derby bragging rights for some time while a win for Ingwe will rejuvenate their zeal and allow them some bragging rights before their next meeting.
