FKF blocks CAF CL Clive broadcast between Gor and CRB

The tussle between Gor Mahia and FKF continues and this time around the club has been barred from broadcasting their CAF Champions League match against CR Belouizdad at Nyayo national Stadium.

But K’Ogalo had done arrangements and all were set until FKF sent police to send them away.

Through a letter from FKF, the federation claims CAF rejected Gor Mahia’s request to stream the match.

“In this regard, and further to CAF guidelines on the broadcast of CAF competitions the federation has regrettably been unable to obtain clearance from CAF for the match to be broadcasted, as the request by Gor Mahia F.C was made outside of the provided CAF timelines. In light of the aforementioned, please be advised that live streaming of the said match will not be possible, unless with prior written consent from CAF”, reads FKF letter to Gor Mahia FC.

But in a quick rejoinder, Gor’s office did a letter direct to the CAF and CAF confirmed there was no issue and the host was allowed to go ahead with their live broadcast plan. “Kindly note the right for the said game are not centralized and belong to the club and federation hosting the game. Therefore, we do not have any objection to your request. Should that game be indeed broadcasted, would be kind enough to communicate live streaming link?”, reads the CAF letter to Gor Mahia FC.

Though too late to re-assemble the equipment for the broadcast.. The club did a quick fix and was able to do a live stream, but was however stopped by FKF as they claimed the host did not follow the right procedure when they wrote directly to CAF concerning the same.
