Gor Mahia beat Zamalek 4-2 in Caf Confederation Cup tie at Kasarani stadium in Nairobi.
A brace from striker Jacques Tuyisenge and good efforts from Nicholas Kipkirui and Dennis Oliech were enough to kill it off for Gor Mahia.
Gor fell behind to an early goal by the visitors before Tuyisenge’s equalizer midway through the half. Tuyisenge would complete his brace shortly after to hand Gor Mahia the lead before the Egyptians equalized.
Tuyisenge’s cross early in the second half found Nicholas Kipkurui who headed home to net his first continental goal for Gor Mahia and restored K’Ogalo’s lead.
Dennis Oliech came on as a substitute and rounded the Zamalek goal-keeper later on to score his maiden goal in the competition and snuff out any possibility of the Egyptians pulling a result and ensuring a great start for Gor Mahia in the group stage.
Tuyisenge’s brace was his 8th goal for the club in CAF competitions and makes him the second highest scorer for the club continentally behind the legendary Peter Dawo.
