An exciting experience it was to the team as confirmed by midfielder Boniface Omondi in a direct flight of eight and a half hours to one of the world’s biggest airports – Heathrow.

“It was a great journey from Nairobi… that was one of the longest direct flights we’ve had as a team but l must say that the experience was worth it,” the midfielder told the official Gor Mahia website.

The 2018 SportPesa Premier League and Super Cup champions will then make it down to Merseyside from London by train in a journey anticipated to last for about two hours.

Through to earning their ticket to Goodison Park, Gor Mahia edged Simba of Tanzania in a tight final match played in Nakuru (Kenya) and Tuesday’s tie will mark the second meeting between the two sides.

First meeting was in Tanzania last year where Everton had to sweat to squeeze a 2-1 win I in a match that lived to its billing.
