After going down for the first time in 2018 in a league match on Tuesday in Mombasa against Bandari, Gor Mahia will be taking on Posta Rangers tomorrow (Friday) in Kisumu.

The tie will mark the second league match in just under four days and the fourth in 10 days in a month crowded with many fixtures for the league leaders.

Despite the setback in Mombasa where Bandari handed Gor Mahia their first defeat with a 2–1 win, KÓgalo have put the Tuesday’s results behind them and are fully focused on Posta Rangers  with one aim – to get good results.

The team’s focus and intentions were confirmed by head coach Dylan Kerr who clearly stated that Tuesday’s results are history and they are moving forward.

“Whatever happened in Mombasa is now history. We are not thinking about past results, ours is to achieve the best in our next match against Posta Rangers – that’s where our focus are on,” Kerr told the official Gor Mahia website.

The same sentiments were echoed by Assistant coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno who said their aim remains the same like in every match – to do their best and get good results.

“It’s a match like any other and our aim will be the same like in many previous matches – to do our best and get good results. We have prepared well for the task,” Zico noted.

This will be the third  time Gor Mahia will be facing Posta Rangers this year – the two had squared it out in a league match where Gor Mahia hammered Posta 5–0 before beating them again 3–0 in a Shield match.

While Gor Mahia are at the top with 56 points (a gap of 11 points) from 23 matches, Posta Rangers are placed 10th on the log with 31 points after playing 24 matches.

If the two team’s current form is anything to go by, then Posta will have to work harder to take home even a point from the match. Posta have only won twice, drawn once and lost twice in their last five league matches while Gor Mahia have won four and lost just once in their last five matches.

The match will kick off at 4pm.
