Kenya’s record champions Gor Mahia are preparing for an action-packed weekend with the club’s senior, queens and youth teams all scheduled for important league assignments as the 2025/26 season enters a defining stage.
The spotlight will firmly be on the senior team, who travel to face Mara Sugar FC in a FKF Premier League clash that could have massive implications in the title race.
Senior Team Eyes Massive Result in Awendo
After moving closer to another FKF Premier League crown following the recent 3-1 victory over Murang’a Seal, K’Ogalo head into the Mara Sugar fixture knowing maximum points could edge them even nearer to a record-extending 22nd league title.
The two sides are scheduled to meet on Sunday, 24 May 2026, in FKF Premier League Match No. 33, with the venue and kickoff time expected to be confirmed later.
Recent meetings between the clubs have favoured Gor Mahia heavily. K’Ogalo defeated Mara Sugar 3-0 earlier this season and have won all their previous top-flight meetings against the sugar millers.
Head coach Charles Akonnor will be hoping his charges maintain their momentum in what promises to be another high-intensity encounter as the Green Army prepares to travel in large numbers to rally behind the team.
The club’s title push has also received a major boost after chairman Ambrose Rachier pledged a KSh5 million bonus to motivate the squad and technical bench in the final stretch of the campaign.
Youth Team Returns to Camp Toyoyo
The club’s development side, Gor Mahia Youth FC, will host Automec FC on Saturday, 23 May 2026, in FKF National East Region League Match No. 20.
The encounter will be played at Camp Toyoyo from 11:00 AM as the junior team continues its mission of nurturing future stars for the senior setup.
Queens Ready for Tough Away Mission
Meanwhile, Gor Mahia Queens FC will travel to Mwatate for a FKF National Women Super League fixture against Hildana Queens.
The match will take place at Alexandra Ground on Sunday, 24 May 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 PM.
The Queens will be looking to continue their positive performances and strengthen their position in the women’s league standings as they seek another strong finish away from home.
Green Army Called Upon Again
With all three teams in action, Gor Mahia supporters are expected to once again turn up in large numbers to back the club across different venues.
The senior team’s title chase has energized the fanbase in recent weeks, with supporters across social media calling for massive away support as K’Ogalo inches closer to domestic glory. Discussions around the title race and the club’s growing momentum have continued to dominate football conversations online.
