The President of Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, together with Government Ministers and Football Federation Presidents from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, have agreed to establish the PAMOJA Oversight Committee for the historic TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027.

The decision was reached during a high-level working meeting held in Nairobi as the three East African nations intensify preparations for the first-ever AFCON tournament to be jointly hosted by three countries.

The newly established PAMOJA Oversight Committee will immediately begin coordinating and supervising preparations for TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 across the three host nations. The committee is expected to provide strategic direction, ensure smooth coordination between governments and football bodies, and monitor progress on key infrastructure and operational commitments.

Among the leaders present during the Nairobi meeting were:

  • Hon. Salim Mvurya, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports of the Republic of Kenya
  • Hon. Paul Makonda, Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports of the United Republic of Tanzania
  • Hon. Peter Ogwang, Minister of State for Sports of the Republic of Uganda
  • Mohammed Hussein, President of Football Kenya Federation
  • Wallace Karia, President of Tanzania Football Federation
  • Moses Magogo, President of Federation of Uganda Football Associations
  • Samson Adamu

The officials signed a Joint Resolution formally establishing the PAMOJA Oversight Committee with immediate effect, marking another major milestone in East Africa’s preparations to host Africa’s biggest football tournament.

Under the roadmap agreed during the meeting, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda committed to delivering several key objectives by the end of August 2026, including:

  • Accelerating stadium and sports infrastructure development
  • Confirming host venues and operational plans
  • Enhancing cross-border coordination on visas, immigration, customs and mobility
  • Strengthening safety, security and medical preparedness
  • Delivering core tournament infrastructure and essential services

The establishment of the PAMOJA Oversight Committee is expected to fast-track decision-making and improve regional coordination as the three nations work toward hosting a successful and historic AFCON tournament in 2027.

The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 will mark a historic moment for East African football, with Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda aiming to showcase the region’s sporting growth, infrastructure development and hospitality to the continent and the world.
