Gor Mahia have received a timely boost after striker Felix Oluoch resumed light training sessions following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a serious knee injury.

The club’s leading scorer underwent surgery on March 1 after suffering an osteochondral injury alongside a torn meniscus, an issue that forced him out during a crucial phase of the season. Initial medical assessments ruled the forward out for a minimum of three months, effectively ending his 2025/26 campaign.

However, positive developments have now emerged from the club’s medical department, with Oluoch back on the training pitch under careful supervision as he continues his rehabilitation process ahead of next season.

Sources close to the club indicate that the striker has begun controlled running drills and light ball work as part of a gradual recovery program designed to rebuild strength and mobility in the affected knee. Medical staff are understood to be taking a cautious approach to avoid any setbacks before the start of pre-season preparations.

Although Gor Mahia still have four matches remaining before the end of the campaign, the chances of Oluoch making a competitive return this season remain extremely slim. The technical bench is reportedly unwilling to rush the forward back into action given the long-term importance of the player to the squad.

Before his injury, Oluoch had established himself as one of the most influential attacking players in the league. His goals played a key role in Gor Mahia’s title challenge, with the striker consistently delivering crucial performances in high-pressure matches.

His absence was heavily felt in recent weeks as Gor Mahia struggled at times to convert dominance into goals, forcing head coach and technical staff to rotate attacking options in search of consistency.

The latest update will nonetheless excite K’Ogalo supporters who have eagerly awaited news on the striker’s recovery. His return to training signals that the rehabilitation process is progressing well and places him on course to be fully fit for the 2026/27 season.

Gor Mahia are expected to continue monitoring the player closely over the coming weeks, with the club prioritizing a complete recovery rather than a rushed comeback before the season concludes.

Oluoch’s Recovery Timeline

March 1, 2026 – Underwent knee surgery for osteochondral injury and torn meniscus

March–April – Began rehabilitation and physiotherapy sessions

May 2026 – Returned to light training under medical supervision

Expected Return – Likely to be fully ready for pre-season preparations ahead of the 2026/27 campaign

What This Means for Gor Mahia

Oluoch’s recovery comes as positive news for Gor Mahia’s long-term plans, especially with the club expected to strengthen its squad for next season and possible continental assignments.

A fully fit Felix Oluoch could become a major asset once again as K’Ogalo aim to reclaim domestic dominance and improve their attacking threat heading into the new campaign.
