After a disappointing 1-0 loss to lower-tier BB Bread in the Mozzart Bet Cup round of 32 at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, Gor Mahia are already shifting their focus to the SportPesa Premier League clash against Ulinzi Stars, scheduled for Sunday, 15th March 2026, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata, Nairobi.
Speaking during Tuesday’s training session, Assistant Coach Bismark Kobi-Mensah emphasized the importance of preparation ahead of the tough league encounter.
“The focus is on Sunday’s game. It’s going to be a very tough match, so the best approach is to prepare thoroughly. We believe in good preparation,” said Kobi-Mensah.

When asked about injuries, the coach confirmed that apart from Felix, the squad is largely fit, although striker Assifuah is limping slightly.
“He trained today, so we will see how he does. Everyone else is fine,” he added.
Despite the cup disappointment, Kobi-Mensah highlighted the team’s strong league form.
“We’ve played 10 league games, won eight, scored many goals, conceded fewer, and we’re at the top of the league. Our last game was disappointing, but moving into Sunday, we just need to stay focused,” he said.

The assistant coach urged the players to treat the upcoming match as an opportunity to respond to their supporters.
“We have shown we can win tough games. If we can forget what has happened and focus on the opportunity to respond to our supporters, that would be good. We genuinely want to respond strongly.”
Gor Mahia will look to bounce back and maintain their lead at the top of the league as they travel to face Ulinzi Stars this weekend.
