Gor Mahia pulled off a breathtaking 2–1 comeback against Bidco United in a SportPesa Premier League thriller played on Saturday, 24th, at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
With the clock deep into seven minutes of added time, Paul Ochuoga rose to the moment, smashing home the winner and sending the Green Army into absolute madness. It was one of those goals that remind you why you love football, pure belief, pure Gor Mahia.
But in the heat of the celebrations, emotions ran wild.
Midfielder Alpha Onyango, carried away by the moment, ran towards the centre referee, made contact and said something that did not sit well with the official. The result? A second yellow card and a late walk down the tunnel, right at the peak of joy.
Ironically, Alpha had earlier saved Gor Mahia in the first half. His professional foul, which earned him the first yellow card, killed a dangerous Bidco counterattack that could have made it 2–0. A sacrifice for the team. A soldier’s foul.
Football, though, can be cruel.
Reduced to ten men, K’Ogalo dug deep, defended with heart, and refused to surrender what they had fought so hard for. The final whistle confirmed it Gor Mahia 2, Bidco United 1.
Joy and pain intertwined. Celebration mixed with concern.
Alpha may now face suspension, but his passion mirrored the fighting spirit of this team never say die, never back down.
This is Gor Mahia.
This is K’Ogalo.
We fight. We suffer. We win. 💚☘️🔥
