Reigning champions Gor Mahia’s head coach, Sinisa Mihic, has made a pledge to the devoted K’Ogalo fans, promising an exhilarating brand of football in the concluding matches of the league season as well as in the upcoming Cup finals.
With the title race now intensifying into a fierce competition among three top teams for thetitle, Gor Mahia’s prospects of reclaiming the championship appear increasingly plausible as they get ready to face Nairobi City Stars this evening at the Dandora Stadium.
Currently sitting in third place with 53 points, Gor Mahia is just 5 points shy of the league leaders, Kenya Police FC, and holds the advantage of having two games in hand. The team’s route to potential glory relies heavily on their ability to secure victories in all of their remaining five matches.
Head coach Sinisa Mihic exudes confidence in his squad and is on a mission to add another trophy to the cabinet of the 21-times champions. With an ambitious goal of achieving a double this season, the team has already made it to the semi-finals of the Mozzart Bet Cup. This prestigious title not only represents a significant domestic achievement but also offers a pathway to compete in the continental arena via the CAF Confederation Cup.
“We’ll be ready for that game for sure. We expect the win in this game and all other games. We want to get double, right? Cup and League. Everything is good. Everything is at a pretty good level because we manage with the energy of the players. So players are not tired, what is very important,” Mihic declared during a recent interview with the Gor Mahia media team.
Mihic is optimistic that the next five matches will highlight the very best of K’Ogalo’s capabilities.
“These five games will be the best about our performance. I’m sure of that. We will show the best performance this last five matches plus two in the Cup with final”, he elaborated.
Gor Mahia’s upcoming fixtures in the KPL are understandably crucial, with remaining matches against fiercely competitive teams including AFC Leopards, Kenya Police FC, Nairobi City Stars, Murang’a Seals, and Ulinzi Stars. Each match presents not just a chance to secure points, but also an opportunity to demonstrate the team’s resilience and fighting spirit as they aim for glory on multiple fronts.
