Gor Mahia’s newly elected management officials are issuing a decisive warning to expatriate players as the club sets its sights on extending its local dominance to the continental stage. Despite being the FKF Premier League champions, Gor Mahia has not attained the same level of success internationally as it has domestically.

With an impressive 21 league titles, Gor Mahia stands as Kenya’s most decorated football club. However, this supremacy must be demonstrated on the continental front, and the champions are determined to make that happen through strategic recruitment of foreign players.

New Secretary General Nick Arum is unequivocal in his vision for change. Having recently triumphed over former Secretary General Sam Ochola in the elections on April 13, Arum is committed to a thorough overhaul of the squad.

“We need to reassess the playing unit decisively. Some players simply do not belong at Gor Mahia, and I say this with absolute confidence,” Arum declared, as reported by Mozzart Sport. “Certain foreign players are not up to standard. They wouldn’t even make it onto the second team, let alone the first team,” he added.

The roster includes foreign players such as Ghanaian midfielder Enock Morison, Congolese striker Gedeon Bendeka, and Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale. Gor Mahia has a history of successful foreign signings, including Rwandan footballer Jacques Tuyisenge, Ugandan striker Dan Sserunkuma, and Khalid Aucho from Uganda.

Gor Mahia is determined to replicate the success of past seasons and firmly establish its dominance on the continental stage.
