Gor Mahia meets bogey KCB in Machakos

It is match day, and after a week of anxiety at the Gor Mahia camp, the Kenya champions are set to face their bogey team, KCB, in a match scheduled to take place at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

K’Ogalo, who are focused on the title race, is currently in third place with 43 points, five points behind league leaders Poloce FC. However, K’Ogalo has one game in hand.

Head coach Sinisa Mihic is determined to secure a victory and has vowed to upset the bankers, who have historically been difficult for Gor Mahia to defeat. KCB sits in fourth place with 40 points.

“Our goal is to defeat KCB on Sunday and close the gap to Kenya Police. Collecting points in our remaining matches is crucial,” Mihic explained.

Gor Mahia’s recent five-match record shows a mixture of draws, few wins, and losses.

A win for Gor Mahia would keep them in the same position but with a better chance to climb to the summit when they face Bandari FC in their next game.

In their 25 KFFPL games, KCB has recorded 10 victories, drawn 10, and lost 5, while Gor Mahia has won 12 games, drawn 7, and lost 5 out of their 24 matches played.

The team has had a long week of training following their clash against arch-rivals AFC Leopards on March 30, 2025, at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

The match is set to kick off at 4:00 PM.
