In an admirable display of sportsmanship, Posta Rangers head coach John Kamau extended his heartfelt congratulations to Gor Mahia for their resounding victory to clinch the FKF Premier League title.

Gor Mahia secured their 20th league title by overpowering Nairobi City Stars 4-1 on the final day of the season.

Kamau praised the champions for their exceptional performance and emphasized the significance of representing Kenya on the continental stage.

“Congratulations to Gor Mahia for winning the league. As you know, when they go out there, they will be representing Kenya,” expressed Kamau, highlighting the national pride associated with Gor Mahia’s achievement.

The former Kenya U-20 head coach encouraged K’Ogalo to aim for a place in the lucrative group stages as they represent Kenya at the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.

“They should ensure that they go into the money bracket and see what will go on from there,” Kamau stated, underlining the potential financial benefits and exposure awaiting the team in the prestigious competition.

While Gor Mahia’s triumph brought joy to their passionate fan base, it was a bittersweet ending for Posta Rangers.

The Mailmen finished 13th on the league table after failing to defeat Bandari FC, which could have secured them a 10th-place finish.

Reflecting on their season, Kamau expressed mixed emotions but remained hopeful for the future.

“We fell short of our target, but we will regroup and come back stronger next season,” he affirmed, displaying a resilient spirit in the face of adversity.

Posta Rangers had their fair share of encounters with Gor Mahia during the season, including a notable clash in April that ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Gor Mahia’s last appearance in the Champions League was in January 2021, when they lost 8-1 on aggregate to CR Belouizdad of Algeria.

The club now faces the challenge of making its mark on the continental stage, with the hopes and dreams of Kenyan football enthusiasts riding high on their shoulders
