Gor Mahia head coach Johnathan McKinstry has said his team is ready for the Kenya Premier League season 2022/2023.
This is after the team played two crucial friendlies, winning 3-0 against Talanta FC and losing 1-0 to Posta Rangers on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9the October 2022 respectively.
However, McKinstry’s side will have to wait longer than yet to be confirmed the resumption of official football activities in the country.
K’Ogalo are depending on youngsters from the youth team due to FIFA’s ban on the signing of new players.
The club will be in a position to recruit players in January when the two-window transfer embargo elapses.
McKinstry believes his team is ready for action. He has taken to social media to declare his team league-ready adding that fans will enjoy the action from his group consisting of young and seasoned faces.
“Another 180 minutes of action over the weekend to round off Week 7 of Gor Mahia pre-season preparations. We are all eagerly awaiting the start of the league to showcase the talented mixture of experience and youth that have been working tirelessly over recent weeks,” the Irish tactician tweeted.
