Four players from Kenyan giants Gor Mahia F.C. have earned call-ups to the Kenya national football team squad for the upcoming FIFA Series window.
Goalkeeper Bryne Omondi, defenders Sylvester Owino and Frank Odhiambo, and midfielder Alpha Onyango are among the players selected by head coach Benni McCarthy as Harambee Stars prepares for a series of international matches later this month.

The quartet will join several current and former K’Ogalo players included in the squad. Among them is creative midfielder Austin Odhiambo, who currently plays for Nejmeh SC in Lebanon, and defender Rooney Onyango, who recently moved to Norwegian side Sogndal Fotball.
Former Gor Mahia striker and current Stars’ Captain Michael Olunga has also been named in the squad, adding experience and leadership to the national team setup.

Preparation for AFCON 2027
The Harambee Stars squad is expected to report to residential camp on March 22, 2026, before traveling to Rwanda for the matches.
The FIFA Series provides an important platform for the team to build chemistry and test combinations against opponents from different football regions. The matches will also form part of Kenya’s broader preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

For head coach Benni McCarthy, the tournament offers a valuable opportunity to assess both local and foreign-based players as he continues shaping the national team ahead of the continental showpiece.
