In a decisive update for Gor Mahia supporters, star player Alpha Onyango has confirmed that he will remain with the club until at least the next transfer window.

Onyango is set to face Bidco United this coming Sunday, 21st September, at the prestigious Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani, where fans will eagerly anticipate his performance.

This news follows discussions regarding a transfer offer from Étoile Sportive du Sahel. A member of the club’s Executive Committee (EC) revealed the details in a message shared on the EC’s WhatsApp group, sparking conversations about the player’s future.

Reports indicate that the transfer fee proposed for Onyango was set at $70,000 (KES 9,040500), with an initial payment of 50% received upon communication of the offer and the remaining half scheduled to be settled in June 2026.

However, the intricacies of the negotiations have raised concerns within the club, especially as the negotiator did not communicate the offer through the proper channels.

The EC has voiced its dissatisfaction, questioning why such an important offer was made outside the official framework and expressing concern over the nature of the communication with the player.

Furthermore, EC members emphasized that no one at the club has the authority to prevent any player from leaving, as indicated by the outside contacts made regarding his potential transfer.

Despite the alluring challenges and enticing offers from foreign clubs, Onyango remains unwavering in his loyalty to Gor Mahia. His primary focus is on contributing to the team’s triumph in the highly anticipated upcoming matches.

On his vibrant social media platform, Onyango radiated enthusiasm as he shared his eagerness to dive back into action with the start of the new season this weekend.

“Focused, prepared, and hungry for the new season. Let’s get it started this weekend! #AO8 #Sirkal,” declared Alpha Onyango, embodying the spirit of determination and teamwork.

As he prepares to step onto the field, fans and analysts alike are keenly observing how this developing scenario will impact not only his personal performance but also the overall dynamics and morale within the club.

The excitement surrounding his commitment adds an electrifying layer to the season’s kickoff, as supporters eagerly anticipate thrilling matches ahead.
