Despite Sofapaka, also known as “Batoto ba Mungu,” coming close to equalizing, their striker Baron Ochieng missed a. crucial opportunity, hitting the crossbar with his shot.

In the second half, Musa Shariff nearly doubled Gor Mahia’s lead with a thrilling shot, only for Sofapaka goalkeeper Baron Obiero to make a crucial save, deflecting the ball for a corner kick.

Although Rogers Ouma had a chance to score for Gor Mahia, his shot sailed over the bar. The pressure from K’Ogalo eventually paid off, with Shariff Musa finding the back of the net to secure the second goal, much to the delight of the fans.

Despite protests from Sofapaka players, claiming the ball had not crossed the line, the referee upheld the decision.

Gor Mahia’s victory now places them in fourth position in the league standings with 27 points.
