Gor Mahia beat Ulinzi Stars 2-1 in a thriller match played at Moi Stadium in Kisumu this evening.

K’Ogalo went for early goals with Samuel Onyango scoring in the 5th minute of the game followed by an additional goal in the 28th minute by George “Blackberry” Odhiambo.

K’Ogalo had another opportunity to extend the lead in the 18th minute after beating awarded penalty, but Samuel Onyango’s shot hit the right post was cleared.

Gor continued pushing for another goal and wre rewarded in the 28th minute courtesy of George Odhiambo, to ensure the hosts went into the half-time break with a massive advantage.

Ulinzi had to wait until the 61st minute to pull a goal back through defender Brian Birgen to set up a tense finale, but the hosts held on to secure maximum points.

The win took Gor Mahia to fourth on the table with 34 points from 19 games while the Soldiers are 12th with 25 points.
