Gor Mahia have been paired with SS Assad of Mombasa in SportPesa Shield  tournament in a draw that was done on Monday 22nd May 2018 in Nairobi. The new 2018 SportPesa Shield tournament which was launched on the same day, will have 64 teams from all the five tiers of Kenyan football.
