Gor Mahia will be facing Vipers of Uganda on Sunday in quarter-final tie in the on-going Kageme Cecafa tournament in Tanzania. Gor Mahia secured a quarters place after edging out AS Port of Djibouti (2-0) in their last group match yesterday. Gor Mahia topped Group B based on fair play rule. They tied on points and goal difference with Rayon Sports of Rwanda. Vipers finished second in Group A with five points.
Gor Mahia are through to Cecafa Kageme tournament after beating AS Port of Djibouti 2-0 in the last match of group matches today in Tanzania. Two goals in opening half courtesy of Phillemon Otieno (14th minute) and Charlse Momanyi (40 minute) were enough to close the day for K’Ogalo and set up a date with an opponent to be known tommorow. With Gor Mahia performing well in the past one year, the club has been on the radar of many clubs scouting for players and the head coach was not spared either.
