A win for Gor Mahia will see them continue their recovery towards defending the league title after losing two of their first three league games. Gor Mahia have been knocked out of SportPesa Cup by Tanzanian side Mbao FC on post-match penalties. The match ended in a one all draw before the Mbao squeezed a 4-3 win to progress to semis of the tournament. A clear goal was disallowed but striker Dennis Oliech would later put Gor Mahia on the lead from a spot kick after Mbao player handled the ball in the 18 yard box. Mbao equalized in second to send the match to straight penalties.
