Gor Mahia elections are set for August 8 this year just before the new season kicks off as per the league’s calendar.

The new developments came from the club’s virtual meeting convened by Chairman Ambrose Rachier where members agreed to elect new officials to manage the club for the next four years.

The Chairman said that if Covid-19 situation will not have easen up, the club will be forced to hold the elections electronically with only registered members eligible to vote.

“We will be having our club’s election on the 8th of August and in view of the biting Covid-19 pandemic, electronic method of voting will be used and only registered members will be allowed to vote. We advise fans to register as members in order to participate in such a process,” Rachier said.

Rachier added that their term in office is over and the club’s constitution stipulates that fresh elections should be held after every four years. As opposed to the previous 11 positions available, only four officials will be elected

“It’s only proper to conduct an election as indicated in the club’s constitution and that is after every four years. We will be put up a board to oversee the process and we will give more direction to those wishing to vie for any post but only four posts will be available – Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary General and Treasurer,” noted Rachier.

In order to vote, fans are advised to register as members by paying the annual membership fee of Ksh 1,200 to the club’s Pay Bill number 350 100 and use ID number as the account number.
