Gor Mahia’s squad overhaul is well underway, with the record FKF Premier League champions continuing to reshape their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The rebuilding process has already seen three senior players officially leave the club. Goalkeeper Gad Mathews, assistant captain Geoffrey Ochieng Simiti, and midfielder Christopher Ochieng have all confirmed their departures, bringing an end to their respective spells at K’Ogalo.
However, the exodus is far from over. Sources indicate that defender Joseph Levin Odhiambo, winger Bryson Wangai, midfielder Fidel Origa, defender Reagan Ogola, and experienced full-back David Owiti are also expected to leave as Gor Mahia streamline the squad and make room for fresh arrivals.

Young defender Elly Owande is set to join Migori Youth FC on a season-long loan. The move is designed to guarantee the promising defender regular first-team football and valuable competitive experience to accelerate his development before returning to challenge for a place at Gor Mahia.
Ugandan striker Mark Shaban is also on the verge of completing a season-long loan switch to Posta Rangers. The temporary move will provide the forward with increased playing opportunities after struggling for consistent minutes in Charles Akonnor’s squad.
The departures are expected to pave the way for several new signings as Gor Mahia continue an ambitious rebuilding project under head coach Charles Akonnor. The club is actively seeking reinforcements in multiple positions as it prepares to defend its FKF Premier League crown while strengthening the squad for a more competitive campaign in the CAF Champions League.

With the transfer window still open, Gor Mahia’s reconstruction is expected to continue, with more exits and arrivals likely before the new season gets underway.
