League leaders Gor Mahia are sharpening their claws ahead of a weekend showdown against a struggling Kariobangi Sharks side at Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday, April 4.
On paper, this looks like a mismatch. K’Ogalo are cruising at the top with 56 points, playing like a team on a title mission. Meanwhile, Sharks are stuck in 14th with just 25 points, fighting more for survival than glory.
And if history is anything to go by, Sharks fans might want to manage expectations.
Out of the last 10 meetings, Sharks have only tasted victory once, way back in July 2021. Since then, it’s been Gor Mahia dominance with just one dull 0-0 draw interrupting the green tide.
Despite the odds, Kariobangi Sharks will be hoping to flip the script. After all, football loves a good underdog story, but against a ruthless Gor Mahia side, this could either be a miracle… or another long afternoon.
One thing is certain: the league is back, and the drama is just getting started.
