Former Gor Mahia youth product Teddy Osok is officially eligible to return to competitive football following the completion of his four-year suspension issued by the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya.
The midfielder, once regarded as a promising talent within K’Ogalo’s development pipeline, was sanctioned in 2022 after testing positive for Boldenone, a prohibited anabolic steroid. The ban brought a sudden halt to a career that had steadily progressed through Kenya’s top football structures and into regional competition.
From Gor Mahia Youth to Top-Flight Football
Osok’s football journey began at grassroots level before earning a place in the Gor Mahia Youth Team, where he developed into a technically gifted and disciplined midfielder. His performances at youth level saw him rise through the ranks during early 2010s, a period when the club maintained its dominance in Kenyan football.
His transition from the youth setup into senior football marked a key milestone, placing him among a generation of players nurtured within the club’s development system.
Club Journey Across Kenya and Beyond
After progressing through the Gor Mahia structure, Osok built experience across several clubs:
- Nairobi Stima – Early senior career foundation
- Sofapaka FC – Continued top-flight exposure
- Wazito FC – Regular midfield role
- KCB FC – Loan spell to gain match experience
- Kitwe United – Professional stint in Zambia
- Tusker FC – Return to Kenya with a top-tier side
At Tusker, Osok was part of a strong squad environment and continued to build on his experience before the suspension was handed down.
Doping Ban and Player’s
The midfielder’s career was interrupted in 2022 when ADAK imposed a four-year ban following a positive test for Boldenone. However, Osok has consistently denied any intentional wrongdoing, maintaining that the result stemmed from a medical misdiagnosis during his time at Tusker FC.
His stance has remained unchanged throughout the suspension period.
A Second Chance at Football
With the ban now officially concluded, Osok returns to the football scene with eligibility restored. His comeback presents both a fresh opportunity and a significant challenge, to rebuild match fitness, regain form, and earn the trust of clubs once again.
For Gor Mahia, his journey serves as a reminder of the importance of youth development pathways and the unpredictable nature of football careers.
As the midfielder begins the next chapter, all eyes will be on whether he can reignite the promise that once made him one of the standout prospects from K’Ogalo’s youth ranks
