A video circulating online shows a supporter of Gor Mahia FC, identified as Jared Obonyo and popularly known as Jaro Soja, being assaulted by a group of fans in Kericho last weekend.

The incident is reported to have occurred near Kericho Green Stadium, where Gor Mahia were on league duty. In the footage, the supporter is seen being physically attacked as those involved demand money from him. The reason for the assault has not been officially established.

Sources within the fan community indicate there are ongoing disagreements within the Gor Mahia supporters’ choir, with two factions currently operating under different leadership. One group is associated with Jaro Soja, while the other is led by a long-standing choir leader, Taya Dok. It remains unclear whether these disagreements were connected to the incident.

No official statement has been released by Gor Mahia FC or recognised supporters’ leadership regarding the matter.
