Gor Mahia stamped its authority on at the KPL summit after edging Bidco United in a pulsating encounter at Kasarani Stadium.
Bidco struck first in the 25th minute through their powerful forward, following a script similar to their previous outing against Gor Mahia in the KPL opening match months ago: the early goal unsettled K’Ogalo, and the first half ended with Gor chasing the game.
But champions respond and Gor Mahia had other plans.
After the break, K’Ogalo returned with renewed purpose: to dominate, dismantle, frustrate, and recover. The pressure paid off in the 58th minute when talisman and super sub Ebenezer Assifuah brought the Green Army back into the game.
How it happened:
A well-worked move from midfield released left-back Bruton, who delivered a precise 45-degree pass to Ebenezer Adukwaw. Adukwaw glided forward with composure, then threaded a perfectly weighted ball into the path of Assifuah. The Ghanaian turned sharply and unleashed a left-footed curling shot into the far right corner. The Bidco goalkeeper stood no chance.
With the score level, Bidco attempted to shut shop and settle for a draw, slowing the game and soaking up pressure. But Gor Mahia’s never-say-die mentality once again came to the fore.
Deep into stoppage time 90+7:53, Paul Ochuoga rose to the occasion, firing home a low finish from a corner kick to spark wild celebrations among the Green Army.
It was a goal that summed up Gor Mahia’s title credentials: belief, patience, and a fight until the final whistle.
K’Ogalo now sit proudly at the top of the table with 36 points, and dislodging them from the summit looks like an uphill task. More battles await, but Gor Mahia look ready for them all.
K’Ogalo mpaka mwisho.
